A busy week!

Today is the first day of a busy week. We're getting ready to go on vacation -- yay!!!

That means that I have lots to do before we go. Today I hope to get some new quilt-y notions and patterns ordered so that Ginny will have something to show next weekend at $5 Quilt Club. (Besides fabric --- which, by the way, we have PLENTY of!!)

Here is a picture of the project I'm working on right now. It's a cute tractor baby quilt using "Funny Farm" fabric by Clothworks.

And, yes, that is a Bernina Nova 900 I'm sewing on! I took it in as a trade-in Friday. I brought the Nova home for the weekend to check it out. It runs great, but boy, do I miss the modern conveniences like needle up/down and knee lifter. There's not even a manual thread cutter on the side.

Well, gotta get to work!

My first post!

Okay, so I have resisted blogging, facebook-ing and twittering up until today.

Why the reluctance, you ask?

I barely have time to read email, so I'm worried that I'm starting something I can't keep up with. I'd rather be sewing than typing on a computer.

So why am I starting a blog now?

Well, I'm looking forward to getting back to writing. If my 103-year-old grandmother can write in a journal every day, surely I can find a moment every now and then to jot down my thoughts.

Wish me luck in finding the time!
